Berean Baptist Church

"Rescuing the lost from the brink"

Berean Baptist Church was established in April of 1975 with approximately 20 charter members.  Rev. James C. Cagle was the first pastor. The congregation began holding services in the old Pop Cola building on April 13, 1975. This building served as home to the congregation until 1993, when a new  200+ seat sanctuary was constructed on Nearing Hills Road under the leadership of Pastor James Rainwater.

Seven pastors have led the congregation, each adding his unique contribution to the growth and well being of the church. Pastor Jesse Bowen assumed this position in February 2008.

The church has experienced significant growth, remodled for additional seating and constructed a 6,800 sq/ft activities building complete with an apartment and gymnasium. Berean is progressively on the move toward global significance. We have a strong worldwide missions program and Bible Publishing ministry with printing presses in India and Mongolia. A Bible Institute (BBI), and several local ministries in the jail, nursing home, hospital and visitation as well as an annual Campmeeting in January. Berean also has a very strong youth group which is led by a committed husband and wife team which is passionate about the Glory of God.

BBC Mission Statement

We join God the Father in magnifying the Supremecy of His Glory through our Lord Jesus Christ, in the Power of the Holy Spirit by treasuring all that God is, loving all that God loves, praying for all His purposes, meditating on all His Word, sustained by all His Grace.

Berean Baptist Church is an Independent (in Operation) Fundamental (in Doctrine) Baptist (in Creed) Church that is passionate for the Glory of God. We believe the Scriptures are the Inspired, Infallible Word of God preserved in the 1611 King James version for the english speaking peoples.  We are home to FirstBible International of Florida. For more on this special ministry please click on the FirstBible of Florida link.

We hope that you will prayerfully consider attending with us and worshipping the Lord Jesus Christ in God honoring music and sound Bible preaching.

Investing In The Vision

The Vision that has been entrusted to the leadership of Berean does not focus on selfish desires but rather on a selfless quest to reconcile the world to its Creator.

We are striving to have a tightly connected, multigenerational congregation in which people of a given generation mentor someone of a subsequent generation, allowing individuals of all generations to consistently and significantly relate to both younger and older individuals on all matters of faith and lifestyle.
